Tantra Massage & Tantric treatments

What is the difference between our approach and tantric massage and treatments?

Tantra versus Sexology in Copenhagen

Many people ask us if what we do is tantric therapy. The answer is that we do not work within the tantric tradition and that our approach differs in several key ways by being more down-to-earth, practical and relationship-oriented rather than spiritual and ceremonial. Here are the most important differences between our approach and a traditional tantric approach.

  • We use no spiritual or religious framework.
Traditional (and very Western) tantra is based on ancient Indian philosophies from the tantra tradition, with elements such as kundalini energy, chakra work, energy flows through the body, awakening of life energy and often a spiritual transformation or union of opposites (e.g. masculine/feminine, shiva/shakti).
Our approach: We work physically and sensuously without any religious rituals, mantras, meditations, breathing techniques or spiritual concepts.

  • We have different goals and different intentions.
In tantra, orgasm and ejaculation are not a goal. Often they are deliberately avoided (especially in men, to preserve or strengthen sexual energy). The focus is on spreading sexual energy throughout the body, achieving full-body ecstasy or spiritual connection - without performance or so-called "happy ending".
Our approach: We allow our clients to have an element of pleasure-oriented focus that can potentially lead to ejaculation or orgasm. In our view, a prohibition against climax can not only cause the client shame, but also frustration that can block constructive sexual development.

  • Role and dynamics
In classical tantra, the masseur often acts as a guide, maintaining a neutral, non-reciprocal role (no mutual touching). The client is in a receptive and preferably meditative state.
Our approach: As couples who share knowledge about sex and teach on a practical level, we are happy to allow clients to take a more active role and therefore also have a degree of sexual and physical interaction with the therapist.

  • Context and language
Tantra often uses concepts from Sanskrit (lingam, yoni, shakti), rituals (lights, music, altar, incense), and talks about "sacred sexuality", "energy flow" or "inner union".
Our approach: We keep it down-to-earth without rituals and in a language that makes it possible for everyone to join in.

Should I choose you or a tantric therapist?

If you are interested in Eastern or Tantric philosophy and lifestyle, it is preferable to choose a Tantric therapist who has a thorough knowledge of the Tantric tradition. If you want a more down-to-earth and direct approach where ejaculation and orgasm can be a natural part of a treatment, our approach may be preferable.
